FINALLY got around to re-doing this guy's design. Unfortunately, this is an old sketch, so the anatomy is terrible. I'll probably update this with a fresh picture of Malek sooner or later.
I love this guy so much. He's so yellow.
So, I've made QUITE A FEW changes. They're all minor things, but they matter.
1. HIS MANE. The shape is still the same, but I changed the colors a bit. Instead of a relatively dimension-less yellow mess, I added some darker shades. He has FIVE colors in his mane. He has his main... mane, a slightly darker section under his chin, then 3 gradually darkening tones starting at his chest, with the darkest color covering his belly.
2. The darker yellows are darker and the lighter yellows are lighter. I liked the added contrast.
3. He's a little more orange. So he doesn't look like a lemon anymore.
4. I decided to make his character slightly younger. He's about 3, here.

A few things about the upcoming comic have been revealed, here.
1. Malek has a BROTHER.

His brother has been designed, which is half of the reason I re-designed Malek, but he won't be revealed until probably Chapter 2 of the comic. Maybe Chapter 3. We'll see.
2. Malek has an overprotective side, but it wasn't always that way... That's all I'll say.

*Note: We're NOT talking SP Simba overprotective, here. He handles it better.

3. The name of the pride has been revealed! Might, just maybe, possibly give you a clue of where the pride is located.

And that's about it... More refs to come. I'm taking the day off of commissions to relax with some of these.

Wan you please tell us where are you going to put your comic? I mean in a new album or... Because you have a lot of them and it's quite hard to find. Anyway, I'm excited to see what it will be like.
