Asad Character Reference by LanieJ Asad Character Reference by LanieJ
Look at that big ole' softie... He's a cutie. :XD: So, ANOTHER character... I'll be doing a few of these while I break in my new MOUSE. :D Sorry if there are any horrendous mistakes. This mouse is very sensitive.

Anyway, have an Asad! He's Tau's father and the king of the jungle, yo.

A few characteristics to take note of:
1. He has a bobbed tail.
2. He has BIG ears. They're perky, though. Not floppy like scar's. They're more like big kitty ears.
3. He has a short, muscular build and a BIG scraggy mane. (Three colors total in the mane.)
4. His nose fade color is the same as his inner ear.
5. His mane covers his entire belly. See this picture ([link]) for reference. Oh, Johnny...

Cool. I'll do Shahed, next. Her name means "honey", if that gives you any clues as to what she looks like. Oh, and another lioness is introduced, here! She isn't mentioned in Tau's family because she lives in a different pride, and he doesn't know her. :eyes:

This guy was originally designed by Lottie: .

Beautiful character design.  He reminds me of a rare breed of lion known as the Barbary Lion.  They are extinct in the wild, but there are still some in zoos around the world.

Thank you! The majority of my lion characters are based off of Barbary lions, actually! I just saw one the other day at a zoo and almost had a heart attack! :XD:

It's been shown that African Lions, when moved to cooler climates, will often grow out manes that resemble Barbary Lions. There is a project going on right now to actually find true genetic Barbary Lions based off of the stud line of the King of Morocco's Lions.

Oh, that's actually really cool information! I would love to see those lions come back. I will definitely check that out!

I wondered what happened to his tail. I though it was cut off by the edge of the canvas. ^^' However, that is a unique characteristic. Sets him apart from others.

Thank you!! :XD: Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how to draw bobbed tails.
